XXII SIGRAV Conference – A Century of General Relativity. In the era of Gravitational Waves.

Annoucement:
The centenary of General Relativity has been marked by the exceptional discovery of gravitational waves and the first direct evidence for the existence of black holes. The Italian scientific community has been greatly involved in these outstanding events from both experimental and theoretical sides. The Italian Society of General Relativity and Gravitational Physics (SIGRAV) intends to celebrate these great achievements and discuss the latest researches in Gravitational Physics and General Relativity. We announce the XXII SIGRAV Conference to be held in Cefalù (Sicily) from 12 to 18 September 2016 in the Sala delle Capriate, Municipal Building, Cefalù. The congress will provide more than 50 plenary lectures focused on the main topics of Gravity, Cosmology and Relativistic Astrophysics. Some important satellite events will be related to the Conference; the Amaldi Medalthat will be awarded to two European scientists, who distinguished themselves in gravitational physics and the SIGRAV prize for young researchers, who carried out researches of particular interest in the field.
